Michael Jackson Dead! OMG!

June 29, 2009

Now I must admit, when I first heard the news I thought it was some sick joke, though who can blame me? I was in a Winchester club enjoying my first student night post exams! Then someone showed me their iPhone with the frontpage of the Sun website and I was like WOOAAAHHH

I mean it was always going to be a shock whether Michael Jackson died at 50 or 150 – he was one of those timeless characters that you couldnt imagine the world not having. And it was a shock! Definately one of those “where were you when Michael Jackson died?” moments. Well this is my answer – I was in Bar 3one in Winchester town centre at about 11pm enjoying my freedom. And you?

RIP Michael Jackson – your music, and probably your controversy, will never be forgotten – your legacy will live on.

I’ve Finished College!

June 25, 2009

Well that’s it. Probably the best 2 years of my education have finally finished. Pretty glad to be finished by the end – I stupidly took Environmental Science, the subject that is blamable for the very last A2 exam! Everyone finished like a week before me! But now I’m free to do as I please!

So what next? Gap year! I may not be at college, but I’m still staying in orchestra and Jazz band for the next year! Should be good!

Big Brother 10 – Good isn’t it!

June 21, 2009

Ever since the first proper advert came on telly, I’ve reckoned that this series will be big, and I still think the best is yet to come!

Fantastic graphics, brilliant house design, great mixed bunch of housemates! Reader, I hope you’re watching the current series of Big Brother UK, and if you aren’t, please make it a part of your daily routine at either 9pm or 10pm on Channel 4!

After the shambles that CBB6 turned out to be, which was a shame because the housemates were actually famous for a change, no-one really had high hopes for BB10, which was probably a good thing to be honest. Everyone has gone into this series not expecting much, thus people will hopefully be pleasantly surprised once the show really gets going.

The house – I love the very futuristic theme to the main structure of the house. The “ribcage” design in the main house area and the garden is really interesting, and I would LOVE that living room!

The housemates – There’s pretty much something for everyone in there this year. Me, I’m a fan of Karly to be honest. She’s an attractive blonde but with a lot more. No fakeness, no dumbness. She’s clever and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Plus her scottish accent is classic! I can’t stand Sree. He’s so immature, so ignorant and has no idea how to socialise at all. No wonder he was booed when he was made president of his university’s student union!

Tasks haven’t been bad so far either. The ole bamboo task this week was a bit BB9-esque but that’s not all bad as long as every task isn’t a re-enactment that is externally judged. I prefer the endurance tasks. In my view, the simpler the better. Maybe the box task should have been made into an annual regular task – every group of housemates would have had a different way of tackling it!

The only thing that has probably put a tarnish on this series from the word go – the lack of live feed. The show just isn’t Big Brother 24/7 always being watched without the live feed. But then again, everyone has been hit by the credit crunch and if it has to go for this series, with the view that its brought back for CBB7 or BB11 then I’m happy.

Anyways, that’s my comments so far. I’m sure I’ll be writing more throughout the next 12 weeks!

Yo!

June 13, 2009

Ok ok, so its been a while since I made a post to my blog, but A2 exams have kinda taken over. But fear not! Here’s a whistle stop tour of my life for the first half of 2009!

January – Hmmm, well I took some A2 January exams, some of which were horrendous, but I drank my sorrows on the evening of the Geography one with the celebration of one of my friends turning 18 – woop to southampton! Oh and Celebrity Big Brother – bit shocking execution sometimes but the cast was pretty good!

February? To be quite honest, I have no idea what happened in February! Ohhh I remember, Geography coursework took over my life! Ohhh and that wasn’t the highlight! I went abroad for the first time in my life! Went on tour with Winchester Youth Orchestra to Prague! Amazing trip – I still miss it!!

March – Well my thoughts were confirmed, my January results were pretty poor, and thus another drinking binge followed…along with the entireity of my college year – go Thursday student nights! Oh and I entered Music For Youth with my jazz band – found out a few weeks ago we didn’t through…bum.

April – Now that was a good easter holiday! Went to sunny Spain for the first part for a Jazz Band tour (yeah, I go abroad twice in the first year I’ve ever been abroad!). That was brilliant. Gained a tan and then came home to a lot of birthday celebrations =]. The end of the month took a day trip to Dundee which, living in Southampton, is quite a feat!

May? Had a party every Saturday in that month, and so the run up to revision began. Oh and accepted my uni offers…cmon Exeter!

And now we’re in the middle of June and right in the thick of exams! Finished college =[ and basically drowning in a heavy amount of revision! In fact I’m writing this because I’m so fed up with revising Maths!

Anyways I promise I shall keep you more updated from now on!

Ciao!
